Alright ladies and gentlemen, been a while since I last blogged, so here's some new ish for you. First just want to talk about how awesome Threat Level Midnight was on The Office last Thursday, love how they went back to something from the 2nd season and followed up with it. The dance was awesome, not that I even dance, but if I ever dance again I'm doing the Scarn.
Bruins pulled the trigger on some big trades, nice to see them doing some stuff, I'm not totally sure that Tomas Kaberle and Rich Peverley are the answers, but we'll see what happens, they seem like they should be an upgrade over Stuart and Wheeler.
Speaking of trades, the Carmelo Anthony trade finally happened, seems like a crazy situation that might get crazier depending on what the Nuggets end up doing. Not totally sure why the Timberwolves got involved, I realize that the Knicks needed another team to take some guys to make cap room, but I don't understand the Timberwolves getting involved, I realize that probably don't care, and getting Brewer off their books is probably a good thing, but that team is a joke. In the end I don't see this really helping out the Knicks much this year, other then on a interest standpoint, which from being down there this weekend I can say there was a lot of buzz about Carmelo. Then the extension which while it's a 3 year deal, could end up only being 2 if there is no season next year.
So, as I alluded, went down to NYC this weekend, couple of observations, other then on the water or Times Square, everything looks exactly the same, and there is trash everywhere, I realize it's a big city and probably pretty hard to keep it all clean, but still when comparing it to Boston, not even close. The whole last call at 4am thing is a bit strange after being used to 2am for so long, when you get out of the bar and it's 4am it's a bit of a shocker. Plus things are kinda expensive. Here is the only picture I took all weekend:
That's a view from Long Island City, which I guess is in Queens, that's the East River and then some buildings including the Empire State building.
Ok, so for some reason the theme of the weekend became this:
I think we beat the joke into the ground, and now what was once was an extremely annoying commercial has been turned into a joke, which is good. We still never figured out why the resturant would allow this guy to be be playing the Piano and singing a song about how their steak sucks and that they should go to Taco Bell. Oh well, better then the Februany Subway commcerial, which was also heavily featured this weekend, but more because it would get stuck in my head.
So, after Elimination Chamber and Raw last night, looks like Wrestlemania is starting to take shape. The Miz vs John Cena for the WWE Title, most likely with The Rock involved. Edge vs Alberto Del Rio for the World Title, Randy Orton vs CM Punk and/or Nexus in some way, Big Show vs Wade Barrett and/or the Corre in some way, and after the returns last night Triple H vs The Undertaker. Which in case you didn't see it, here it is:
Had to work until 5:30 today for the first time in a really long time, It wasn't too bad, but I prefer working until 4, leaves a lot more time to do activities.
Something that may result from the trip down to NYC, on the way down a conversation about Shawshank Redemption eventually led to a discussion about Pauly Shore, which might result in a Pauly Shore day, yup, that's right a marathon of Pauly Shore Movies, Encino Man, Son In Law, In The Army Now, Jury Duty and Bio-Dome, and possible Pauly Shore Is Dead, but that might be stretching it. We'll be chillin' with the Weasel, Bud-dy!
Alright, that's all I got for now, but as always, even despite all the treats I already gave you, here's one more for you.
Attempted to do this this weekend, failed, but did get 840 yards and 8 TDs.
